What is a PC Bottleneck?

A PC bottleneck occurs when one component limits the potential performance of another component. In a gaming rig, this most commonly happens between the CPU and the GPU. If your CPU is much faster than your GPU, your CPU will finish its calculations and have to wait for the GPU to render the frames (GPU Bottleneck). Conversely, if your GPU is faster, it will have to wait for the CPU to send it drawing instructions (CPU Bottleneck).
